In an attempt to define our music, we could say: it sound like blues but we don't know if it is blues. We are an acoustic band and the instruments we play: Guitar, Double Bass, Harmonica, Dobro, Voice and percussions are those most directly associated with the “street” tradition, intended as the main stage for popular music.
We started playing together in 1998. The name “Dago Red” comes from a book by John Fante. Besides the Bacchus inspired meaning, Dago Red includes another, deriving from the depreciatory way in which Americans referred to immigrants of Italian origin at the beginning of ‘900.
We perform live in Theatres, Public Houses, Festivals and on the road.
